Boil-Water Alert Rescinded

City Features Posted on February 04, 2026

The City of Maitland rescinded its precautionary boil-water alert on Wednesday, Feb. 4, following completion of two consecutive days of satisfactory bacteriological tests confirming that potable water from the city’s public utility is safe for consumption including the time during the testing period.

Testing is required under Florida Administrative Code following a brief drop in in the city’s water service pressure on Sunday, Feb. 1, due to mechanical failure at one of three water treatment facilities.

Maitland utility customers are no longer advised to boil water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes under this precautionary alert.

The City of Maitland is proud to provide a safe and dependable supply of drinking water that meets or exceeds all state and federal quality standards. The city’s Public Works Department operates and maintains three potable water plants, six ground water wells and five storage tanks that produce approximately 3 million gallons of water daily.
