Ø  AFTER STORM PHONE INFORMATION LINE – 407 875-2850

The City’s Phone Information Line is staffed from 8 am until 5 pm.  It will be staffed on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 407-875-2850.

Ø  DAMAGE ASSESSMENTS AND ROAD CLEARING

The City crews have cleared all roads, and confirmed with Duke Energy that they are not waiting on the City for any additional clearing to be able to restore power.  Crews have been clearing debris from the roadway around the schools and heavily impacted areas.

Tree contractors are continuing to clear trees from the rights-of-way.

If you believe that you have sustained storm damage that has compromised the structural integrity of your home, please contact the City’s Building Division.  You can report on the City’s website at www.itsmymaitland.com/report.aspx using Code Enforcement as the issue topic.  Include your name, address, contact information and pictures if available.

Ø  CITY-RELATED CLOSURES

·        All City parks are closed due to hazardous conditions with the exception of Lake Lily park. 9/19/17: Minnehaha Park, Lake Destiny Soccer Field, and Lake Sybelia Point are open.

·        ALL MAITLAND LAKES ARE CLOSED - Due to elevated bacteria counts, downed power lines, and high water levels, all city lakes are unsafe for public use and are closed.  Boating, swimming and recreational activities are prohibited.  All Maitland lakes are being tested for bacterial contamination.  Once levels are determined to be safe, the activities ban will be lifted.

Ø  GARBAGE , RECYCLING AND YARD WASTE

·        WastePro has resumed regular garbage, recycling and yard waste collection.

·        You can report a missed garbage or recycling pickup to 407 539 6265.

·        WastePro will collect regular yard waste items on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  Those are items that are containerized, bagged or bundled.

·        Due to anticipated heavy activity at the landfill and larger than usual yard waste deposits, they may be unable to collect throughout the entire City.

Ø  DEBRIS REMOVAL

·        Based on the volume of debris, collection of all vegetative debris is expected to take 45 to 60 days.

·        The City has engaged a debris removal contractor for the large debris collection.  We anticipate collection to begin early next week and will post progress daily.

·        City crews have been clearing roadways of debris around the schools and where heavy accumulations are impacting the roadway or drainage.

·        Debris should be placed in the right of way (as close to the road as possible) for bulk collection.  Please do not pile the debris in the roadway or near fire hydrants.

·        Debris will be collected with larger equipment, so please do not place directly under utility lines, near mailboxes or trees.

·        For those who would prefer to haul their own debris, Orange County is offering drop off sites.  You can find the information at www.ocfl.net/debris.

·        We appreciate your patience, at this time there is no need to advise the City of locations of debris as this has been accomplished by the debris contractor.

·        For additional information or specific concerns, please call the phone information line from 8 am until 5 pm at 407 875 2850.

Ø  POWER OUTAGES

·        There are widespread power outages – as primary feeds are restored secondary outages may still exist.

·        You can confirm outages with Duke Energy at 1-800.228.8485.

·         Duke Energy has provided a restoration time of midnight on Sunday, September 17, 2017 (as of this update).

Ø  TRAFFIC SIGNAL OUTAGES

·        There is one traffic signal still without power at Maitland Avenue and Horatio Avenue.  Please remember they are to be treated as 4 way stops.

·        Please drive mindful that other drivers may not be aware of this rule.

Ø  WATER AND SEWER

·        The City of Maitland has not issued any boil water alerts.

·        There are a number of City lift stations on backup generator and City staff are monitoring pumping.
