The Art & History Museums of Maitland will present a new history exhibit "People of Maitland" from Feb. 26 to Aug. 15 at 231 Packwood Avenue in beautiful downtown Maitland. The show includes many fascinating stories and exhibits surrounding our community’s founding families like the Hills, Waterhouses and Dommerichs.
One of the exhibits features Rose Cleveland, former First Lady of the United States and sister of two-time President Grover Cleveland, and local her relationship with philanthropist and humanitarian Evangeline Marrs Whipple. Another shares the story of a duel with community founder Richard Packwood. Other exhibits detail the lives of founding families like the Vanderpools, Hills and Waterhouses.
