The City of Maitland and Maitland City Centre will begin a two-week project starting Feb. 1 to reset brick roadway pavers along Independence Lane.
The much-needed work will require partial street closures, which will be conducted in three phases to minimize traffic impacts and to maintain access to the Maitland City Centre parking garage entrances/exits on Independence Lane. Construction will begin at the intersection with Packwood Avenue and move north toward Horatio Avenue. Independence Lane will be closed starting Feb.1 from Packwood to the south parking garage access next to Sanford Brewing Company.
Once completed, the second phase of the project will close Independence Lane between the south garage access and the north garage access located between Boku Sushi and Fleet Feet. The third phase will close Independence Lane including the north garage access to Horatio Avenue.
Please use extra caution and follow detour signs to reach the parking garage at Maitland City Centre.
On-street parking will be limited along Independence Lane. The city will post signs in the area to direct motorists around the closures.
