Police Department Arrests Employee of
Youth Summer Camp at Dommerich Elementary School
The Maitland Police Department has arrested an Orange County man in an ongoing investigation at a youth summer camp operating at Dommerich Elementary School.
Defendant Mahlyk Kordale Poole, 21, is charged with lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim younger than 12 years old.
Maitland police officers responded Wednesday afternoon to the family of a juvenile who alleged inappropriate contact earlier that day with an adult counselor at Discover After School, which operates a summer camp at Dommerich Elementary with the facility rented from Orange County Public Schools (OCPS). A warrant was issued for Poole’s arrest, and he was booked early Friday morning into the Orange County jail.
This is an ongoing investigation that is being coordinated with the Florida Department of Children and Families and OCPS to ensure the wellbeing of all children attending the camp.
