The City of Maitland will give away 50 free trees to municipal residents from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 30, at the Venue on Lake Lily (Maitland Civic Center), 641 S. Maitland Ave.
Trees include 30-gallon varieties of live oaks, Shumard oaks, crape myrtles, magnolias and bald cypress. Each tree was hand-picked by the city's certified arborist.
Getting your free tree is super easy. Join us at the Venue on Lake Lily - follow the signs to use the entrance to Lake Lily Park. Bring a truck, trailer or a vehicle large enough to hold a 30-gallon tree.
Stay inside your vehicle. City staff will visit each car to help with tree selections and to provide tree care tips. Each participant also will get a free gift bag with some goodies and valuable tree planting instructions.
Then our team will load your tree into the vehicle. That's it! Pretty simple.
One tree per household. Recipients must provide proof of residency such as photo identification or utility bill with address. Trees are offered on a first-come basis without reservations.
