Congratulations to Maitland City Council member Lindsay Hall Harrison, who was elected to her second term for Seat No. 4 in today's election against Dale McDonald.
Hall Harrison received almost 62 percent, or 941, of a total 1,518 votes, according to unofficial results from the Orange County Supervisor of Elections on Tuesday night. Dale McDonald received 38 percent, or 577 votes, according to unofficial results.
Hall Harrison is a real estate attorney who moved to Maitland in 2016. She was appointed to Maitland’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board on in 2017. She was unopposed for City Council in 2019.
Hall Harrison will be sworn in during the April 24 City Council meeting.
For the city’s five proposed charter amendments, voters approved mayoral succession, availability of a printed copy of the city code, gender neutrality in the city charter and amending rules for candidate oath, timing of campaign submissions and clarifying qualifying procedures. Voters did not approve a proposed change to elections that would eliminate runoffs.
