The City of Maitland and WastePro are working to better address weekly garbage and recycling collection that is impacted by delays at a regional disposal site in Seminole County.
Garbage haulers across this part of Central Florida are hindered by long waits and often seek more distant, alternate disposal sites. The result is longer returns and required follow-up days to collect curbside residential waste in local communities like Maitland.
Additional vehicle trips are being scheduled. Delayed collection may occur later on scheduled pick-up days or the next day. To ensure collection, residents are asked to leave containers at the curb.
Missed collections also may be reported online at www.itsmymaitland.com . Select the "Report a Concern Button" and the category "Garbage, Yard Waste and Recycling". All reported locations will be collected by the following day.
Some collection also will begin earlier on scheduled days. Residents are asked to place containers at the curb prior to 7 a.m. on collection days.
Streets expected for delayed or following-day garbage and recycling collection will be reported on the city website at www.itsmymaitland.com . To sign up for e-mail or text-message notifications, visit www.itsmymaitland.com/notifyme and choose Garbage and Recycling Notifications.
For questions, please e-mail utilities@itsmymaitland.com or call (407) 539-6265.
We are proactively working to reduce delayed pick-up. Thank you for your patience.
