Extensive renovations will begin in April at Fort Maitland Park with new restrooms, parking and surfacing, a new playground and other amenities. The boathouse will be removed from the dock to create a covered viewing area looking over Lake Maitland. A canoe and paddleboard launch will be added. Most of the park along with the boat ramp is expected to close for up to six months during construction.
Work is finishing to reconstruct the north overlook and a portion of sidewalks at Lake Lily Park. Large areas will be re-landscaped, and the southern parking area will be rebuilt.
The restrooms were renovated at Lake Lily Park. New steps were built to provide additional pedestrian access from the parking lot and adjacent Venue on Lake Lily. A new fountain also was installed in the center of the lake.
