The City of Maitland will begin residential curbside yard waste and debris pickup through Waste Pro on Saturday. Any yard waste collections not completed Saturday will resume on Wednesday.
• Yard waste must be placed in bags or garbage collection bins behind the street curb and weighing no more than 50 pounds each.
• Large limbs should be tied together in bundles measuring no longer than 4 feet.
• Separate yard waste from other types of debris or household garbage or recycling.
• Do not put debris in the street. Make sure that vehicles do not block storm debris piles. Also, do not place debris piles next to signs, poles, trees or above-ground utility boxes.
• Concerned about damaging your grass? Place the debris at the end of your driveway.
• Oversized, unbundled or very large limbs will not be collected.
• Landscape or tree trimming contractors can take large amounts of limbs and yard waste directly to the Seminole County Central Transfer Station at 1950 State Road 419 in Longwood.
• To schedule special debris collections through the City of Maitland (at the owners expense), please contact the Utility Billing Division at (407) 539-6265 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays.
