A boil-water advisory issued by the Maitland Public Works Department on Saturday, April 20, is rescinded today following completion of two consecutive days of satisfactory bacteriological tests confirming that potable water from the city’s public utility is safe for consumption.
Testing, which is a precaution required under Florida Administrative Code, was conducted Saturday and Sunday, following a short mechanical failure at one of three water treatment facilities that briefly dropped utility water pressure below minimum standard. Successful test results confirm that water is safe for consumption and that the boil-water advisory is no longer needed.
