A Fond Farewell to Network Administrator Sergio Mora

Sergio is moving to Colorado.  Our Network Administrator and friend has left us.  Our loss is City of Boulder’s gain.  He will soon join the staff of the City of Boulder as Applications Support Administrator III.

Sergio and his wife recently vacationed there and fell in love with Boulder’s hiking trails, mountain vistas, and bicycle-friendly infrastructure. During his visit there, he saw City of Boulder was looking for a new addition to their 40-person IT staff.
Sergio started working for our City in March 2004 in the role as IT Specialist.  At the time, he was a contractor working for Consultis, an IT staffing firm with the tag line “placing excellence with exceptional IT talent.”  We could all agree that Sergio is exceptional IT talent!
Sergio’s role expanded to include the technological systems of Fire Rescue and Police in 2006.  In 2007, he transitioned into IT Analyst and Network Administrator.
Sergio said, “I grew up with this network. My skills grew as the network became more complex. The work has been very interesting.”
At the City of Boulder, he will work with applications such as MUNIS, Energov, Beehive, and integrate future applications into Boulder’s existing systems.  His role will eventually transition into the role of a project manager, working with Citywide departments as an IT liaision.
When asked why he decided to devote 13 years of his professional life here, Sergio said, “The City’s been very good to me.”
“Everyone here is really great to work with.  There is a good spirit of cooperation.”
