The City’s Fire Rescue Department will be conducting its' required annual fire hydrant flow testing for 2012 during the month of May through mid-June. During that time utility customers may see brief periods of reduced water pressure or somewhat lightly brownish colored water. If the latter occurs, please simply run your faucets for several minutes and the water will clear up. According to industry sources, hydrant flushing releases "primarily harmless silt" and customers should not be alarmed about any dangers, although allowing the water to clear before consuming is recommended. If there are any questions or concerns, please call the fire department’s administrative headquarters at (407) 539-0774.
