Scheduled Restrictions: The SJRWMD mandates an irrigation schedule that is in effect for our district all year round. Irrigation between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. is strictly prohibited. Click here for any other current restrictions in effect.
Rain Sensors: In accordance with state law, Maitland requires the installation of rain sensors on any new or revamped irrigation system within the City.
Plumbing Code: Maitland has an ultra-low volume plumbing code in effect. This code requires reduced-flow rate fixtures - including showerheads, faucets, urinal and toilets - in all new construction and renovations.
Landscape Code: Maitland has water conserving landscape codes in effect for commercial customers. Staff will explore landscape code options for residential customers that promote low-volume irrigation and encourages the use of native plants and other vegetation that survive on natural rainfall. Also included would be looking at options that encourage smaller turf grass areas.
