City Entryway Feature Is a Water Conserving Landscape Site

The seminar focused on landscaping principles to assist residents with gardening during the water restriction period. The seminar was designed to help residents by showing them how to have a lovely flowering landscape, while still following the twice a week watering mandate.

Another highlight to the seminar was the replanting of the Maitland Entryway Feature located at the corner of Orlando Ave and Maitland Boulevard with water conserving plants and ground covers that are flowering, colorful, and drought tolerant.

The program was brought to the residents of Maitland by the Community Relations Office, the Public Works Department, and the Community Development Department as well as in partnership with the Cities of Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Casselberry, Lake Mary, Winter Park, Winter Springs, Seminole County, and the St. John's River Water Management District.

Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on the entryway feature on Orlando Avenue and watch as it begins to bloom and flower in various shades, colors, and textures during the year.
