Process for Vegetation Removal and to Achieve Approved Plans

  1. Once a project has been approved by the Development Review Committee, Planning and Zoning Commission or City Council, and the signed approval report has been issued, the applicant may start the permitting process.
  2. Six sets of plans revised to meet the conditions of approval shall be submitted to the Project Coordinator for distribution to DRC members noting comments on the approved report.
  3. Plan sets should be collated so that all sheets are together, consistent with requirements of application form. One person shall be responsible for collating engineering, landscape/irrigation and architectural elevations prior to submitting plans to the City.
  4. Project Coordinator shall give DRC members two working days to review revised plans for accuracy. All comments shall be collated by the Project Coordinator and forwarded to the applicant for further revisions until the plans are approved.
  5. Approved plans will be stamped by the Project Coordinator and initialed by the appropriate personnel.
  6. Once plans are approved, applicant will be notified by Project Coordinator.
  7. The applicant may submit an application for vegetation removal and the applicable fee at this time with three sets of the approved vegetation removal and silt fence location and installation plans application forms may be obtained from the Project Coordinator.
  8. The applicant will then install all tree barricades and silt fencing consistent with the approved plans prior to receiving vegetation removal permit.
  9. Once the barricades and silt fencing is installed, the applicant must notify the Project Coordinator, who will schedule an inspection.
  10. If the site passes inspection, the representative from the Parks and Recreation Department will notify the Project Coordinator and sign the original application form for vegetation removal. If the site does not pass inspection, the representative from the Parks and Recreation Department will notify the Project Coordinator and forward a list of the items to be reconciled in order to be approved. Once the list has been completed, the applicant will again notify the Project Coordinator, who will schedule an inspection.
  11. The Project Coordinator will notify the applicant to pick up the approved permit and start vegetation removal at this point.
