MAITLAND FIRE DEPARTMENT OPENS DOORS TO PUBLIC DURING EMS WEEK
Maitland, FL. --(May 2, 2000)-- The City of Maitland’s Fire Department is hosting Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, from May 14th to May 20th.  In honor of this awareness week, a celebration designed to honor the 750,000 EMS providers nationwide who deliver life-saving emergency care, the Maitland Fire Department will have an Open House event on Monday, May 15th and Wednesday, May 17th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Exciting events scheduled for the Open House during EMS Week include: free blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar checks, along with hurricane preparedness safety tips, car seat demonstrations, finger printing, and fire and rescue truck tours for the kids.

“This is an exciting way for us to make the community more aware of all the services provided by their emergency medical teams,” stated Maitland Fire Chief Dan Hardester.  “The Open House also gives us the opportunity to give back to our community by providing our residents with free blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar tests,” continued Chief Hardester.

For information on attending the EMS Week Open House at the Maitland Fire Department call 407-539-6227, or drop them an e-mail at MFD@ci.maitland.fl.us.

The City of Maitland is a residential and business community that enjoys the advantages and intimacies of a small town community conveniently located less than 30 minutes from metropolitan Orlando.  On the horizon is the completion of the proposed Cultural Corridor, a special district within the city designed to emphasize and promote Maitland’s historical and cultural identity.  Maitland planners envision maintaining a healthy, clean environment that’s sustained, progressive and carefully planned.
