Private Services
1st meeting -"Wants"
- Boutique style shops.
- Neighborhood community services.
- Easy access to retail shops from 17-92 (create a "strip-mall atmosphere")
- Convenient/Quick services
- Comfortable environment for all ages.
- Evening friendly.
- Security Conscience.
- Outdoor dining upscale.
- No movie theater complex.
- No chain stores. (ie. The Gap)
- No used car lots.
1st meeting -"Concerns"
- Does promote local neighborhood communities.
- No big "box" buildings. (ie. Target, Walmart)
- Ample convenient parking.
- Density of business downtown.
- Focus to local businesses.
- No strip malls.
- Provide practical businesses (hardware, daily use items).
- Concern about being "trendy".
2nd meeting - "Wants"
- Community uses: Health club.
- User friendly park to eat at.
- YMCA/Community activity center.
- Usable businesses downtown: dry-cleaners, hairdressers, bike shops, florists, drugstores.
- Attractive trash cans, lighting.
- Public bathrooms.
- Restaurants with outside seating.
- Pet friendly, pet clean-up, water for pets.
2nd meeting -"Concerns"
- Need surface parking for neighborhood retail/service businesses.
- Town Center needs to be designed with businesses in mind.
- Signage restrictions: size, neon, etc.
- Bike racks, shady/covered high quality encourage bikes to come.
- Need shade, umbrellas.
3rd meeting -"Wants"
- No art deco.
- Preservation of existing businesses.
- No neon signs
- Parking adjacent to track.
- No bricks on intersections. (Sparten and 17-92 is good)
- Activity center for all age groups.
- Provide indoor/outdoor play spaces.
- Taj Mahal - No cars
- Creative (young stores)
- Do not overdo food businesses.
- Music (small and large)
