Location & Planning
1st meeting -"Wants"
- City Hall focal point - fountain/village green in back so people visiting restaurants can take advantage of park benches in the park.
- City Hall look more like WHR - neighborhood looking, porch, more like WHR Museum.
- Good connectivity to culture corridor and arts.
- Make green community friendly for larger event venue - more venue area.
- City Hall on Packwood
- City Hall connected to Park, that's usable beyond City Hall green space.
- Plan C makes City Hall a business part of our town, not a monopoly as Plan A presents.
- City Hall connected to Parking Garage, visible architecturally, but not centered.
- Plan A or Plan B - NOT Plan C.
1st meeting -"Concerns"
- Parking around City Hall
- Safety of parking garages.
- Visibility.
- Central Park.
2nd meeting - "Wants"
- Lunches, City Hall as social gathering, volunteer space, tie-in to park events.
- Central park/open spaces.
- Not "Chain-stores".
- Feasibility study done on using existing City Hall LAND and/or lot across the street for new city hall/police/fire building before putting in middle of Horatio; which should be a last resort only!
- Increase park space
- Central Town Square social gathering space.
- More green space.
- Eliminate cars from town square - only
- Winter Park village good model for traffic density/movement.
- More park-like.
- Placid drive through city.
- More community events.
- Ride bikes to it.
- More visible park space.
2nd meeting -"Concerns"
- Few or no condos.
- Placing City Hall in middle of Horatio will create congestion and traffic nightmares as well as harming or destroying business at corner of Horatio and 17-92 (where Ice Cream store is located).
- Train noise for City Hall meetings.
- Minimize traffic.
- Scale of traffic to pedestrian.
2nd meeting -"Solutions"
- See feasibility study note.
- Push city hall building to one end of new central park to increase "green".
- Acoustical design to reduce train sound.
3rd meeting -"Wants"
- City Hall in center of Town as main focal point of town. It should be the tallest structure.
- History learning markers in and around City hall.
- City Hall must have a spire/cupola with a real clock and sound.
- Need connectivity with Lake Lily.
- City Hall in center is good as long as there is enough green space around it.
- Beautiful garages not barriers.
- Garages that are more mixed use and not just for cars.
- Dual purpose garages that people can use.
- Want a trolley car..
3rd meeting -"Concerns"
- Not a single imposing building - more of a cluster of buildings.
- Eliminate traffic flows through and around city hall village.
- 17-92 and Horatio proposed buildings block "public view" of town green.
- Need to go back in history of Maitland; i.e. the original Fort Maitland.

Once the input concerning the possible locations for the City Hall was gathered from the first 3 Community Forums the information was documented and used to create 2 more boards that incorporated the community requested design elements. These boards shown here were brought back to the community in the 4th and 5th Community Forum meetings for additional comment.
