Verl Emrick, Executive Director, Maitland Community Redevelopment Agency
Verl comes to us with 30 years of experience in Community Planning. His experience includes design and implementation of downtown and residential revitalization programs, preparation of city master plans, development of a wide variety of land development regulations, historic preservation planning, parks and recreation master planning, local and regional economic development, floodplain management and hazard mitigation planning and housing and community development programs.
A graduate of Auburn University, with a BS degree in Business/Economics and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning. Verl has served several communities in his career. These include Asheville, North Carolina, 23 years a its Planning Director, Tribal Planning Director of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Planning Director for the Orlando Housing Authority and ten years as Principal of V. Emrick and Associates, Planning Consultants.
Verl is a veteran, U.S Army-1961-1976, serving with Special Forces and Rangers. He is married to Judyth Emrick who has enjoyed 26 years in hospital administration. They have five children and four grandchildren.
