Welcome: The Commission welcomes public comment. To ensure that the concerns of all parties are given fair consideration at the appropriate stages of the process, it is important that decorum is maintained. When addressing the Commission, please address all statements to the Chair. Since an audio record is being made of the meeting, individuals addressing the Commission are asked to use the lectern so that the comments may be recorded. In addition, individuals addressing the Commission must provide their name and address for the record. During public hearings, an announcement will be made to open and close the public comment stages of the hearing. Any written statements or other exhibits shall be provided to the staff representative, if desired to be made a part of the meeting record. Your involvement is essential to the process and is appreciated.


I.               Call to Order/Roll Call

II.            Pledge of Allegiance

III.         Public Period for non-agenda items (up to 15 minutes with time limit of three minutes per person)

IV.          Approval of Minutes from May 21, 2009

V.             Public Hearing (Recommendation): Petition No. 2009-01 (AZ)(PD) 250 N. Swoope Avenue.

Applicant: Kathy Hattaway, AICP on behalf of Maitland Montessori School, Adele Fondo and Muriel Owens, 200 North Swoope Avenue, Maitland, Florida 32751.

Request: The applicant requests to amend the current zoning classifications from MORC, Mixed Use District and PD, Planned Development District, to a PD district, and to amend an approved final development plan to incorporate an additional property containing .12 acres which will function as a play area/playground for the Montessori School site. 

Location: 250 N Swoope Avenue/236 N Swoope Avenue

VI.           Recommendation: Petition No 2009-01 (AZ) 1951 Summit Tower Boulevard

Applicant: City of Maitland, Florida, 1776 Independence Lane, Maitland, Florida 32751.

Request: Currently properties have an Orange County Zoning Classification of PD, (Planned Development). The City of Maitland proposes to amend the zoning category from an Orange County P-D to a City of Maitland PD. No development is proposed as part of this zoning amendment.

Location: 1951 Summit Tower Boulevard Property Owner: BRE/ESA P Portfolio LLC, c/o Extended Stay-Property Tax, 100 Dunbar  Street, Spartanburg, South Carolina, 29306-5186  Parcel I.D. 27-21-29-5481-00-010; and

Maitland Summit Property Owners Association Inc., c/o Shawn Rader 215 Eola Drive, Orlando, Florida 32801 (Tract A-Entrance sign/wall) Parcel I.D. 27-21-29-5481-00-013; and

AEW No. 66 Corporation, c/o CT Corporation System, 1200 South Pine Island Road, Plantation, Florida33324 (Parcel I.D. 27-21-29-5481-00-014)


VII.        Recommendation: Petition No 2009-02 (AZ) 1991 Summit Park Drive

           Applicant: City of Maitland, 1776 Independence Lane, Maitland, Florida 32751.

Location: 1991 Summit Park Drive - Property owner - Summit-North Assoc Inc., c/o Shawn Rader 215 North Eola Drive, Orlando, Florida 32801 (Stormwater Tract) and  El Rancho Partners, c/o William Seider 200 South Orange Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 32801.

Request: The City of Maitland proposes to amend the zoning category from an Orange County P-D (Planned Development) to a City of Maitland PD. No development is proposed as part of this zoning amendment.
