Welcome: The Commission welcomes public comment. To ensure that the concerns of all parties are given fair consideration at the appropriate stages of the process, it is important that decorum is maintained. When addressing the Commission, please address all statements to the Chair. Since an audio record is being made of the meeting, individuals addressing the Commission are asked to use the lectern so that the comments may be recorded. In addition, individuals addressing the Commission must provide their name and address for the record. During public hearings, an announcement will be made to open and close the public comment stages of the hearing. Any written statements or other exhibits shall be provided to the staff representative, if desired to be made a part of the meeting record. Your involvement is essential to the process and is appreciated.

IV.          Public Hearing: Petition No. 2008-02 (ALU) Transportation Concurrency Exception Area

           Applicant: The City of Maitland, 1776 Independence Lane, Maitland, Florida 32751.

Request: The City of Maitland proposes to establish a Transportation Concurrency Exception Area (TCEA) within a portion of the City. This document presents the data and analysis in support of the proposed TCEA, including the amendments to the comprehensive plan to establish the TCEA as required in Section 163.3180 (5) (a), Florida Statutes (FS). The proposed TCEA will provide the City with an additional tool to assist in its redevelopment and infill development goals.

V.             Public Hearing: Petition No. 2008-01 (AZ)(PD) City of Maitland Police Station

          Applicant: The City of Maitland, 1776 Independence Lane, Maitland, Florida 32751.

Request: The applicant proposes to obtain approval of a final development plan to permit the construction of a 17,289 square foot City of Maitland, Police Station with surface parking.  As proposed, the police station would be located between the existing Maitland Fire Station to the west, baseball fields on the east and the Public Works complex on the north. The property is currently zoned PD (Planned Development) district.

Location: The property is situated north of Fennell Street and west of Keller Road.

VI.          Public Hearing: Petition No. 2008-03 (ALU) City of Maitland FY 2009-2013 Capital Improvements Program

          Applicant: The City of Maitland, 1776 Independence Lane, Maitland, Florida 32751.

VII.       Recommendation: Petition No. 2007-03 (ALU) Future Land Use Map and Text Amendments/ Identify boundary of the proposed Maitland Town Center

          Applicant: The City of Maitland, 1776 Independence Lane, Maitland, Florida 32751.

Location: The subject area is located between two major roadways, US 17-92 on the east and Maitland Avenue on the west. George Avenue is the northern boundary and Packwood Avenue is the southern boundary. The subject area is bisected by Horatio Avenue. (This item was tabled at the meeting of February 7, 2008.)

Request:  This amendment seeks to identify the boundary location of the proposed Maitland Town Center addressing residential density and non-residential intensity within those boundaries.
