Welcome: The Commission welcomes public comment. To ensure that the concerns of all parties are given fair consideration at the appropriate stages of the process, it is important that decorum is maintained. When addressing the Commission, please address all statements to the Chair. Since an audio record is being made of the meeting, individuals addressing the Commission are asked to use the lectern so that the comments may be recorded. In addition, individuals addressing the Commission must provide their name and address for the record. During public hearings, an announcement will be made to open and close the public comment stages of the hearing. Any written statements or other exhibits shall be provided to the staff representative, if desired to be made a part of the meeting record. Your involvement is essential to the process and is appreciated.

IV.          Recommendation: Peitition 2006-01(PCU) Strayer University, Inc.

Applicant: Strayer University, Inc., 2121 15th St. North, Suite 300, Arlington, VA 22201

Request: To allow Strayer University to be established at 850 Trafalgar Court, Suite 360, Maitland, Florida. Strayer University offers associates, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs and proposes to utilize approximately 11,105 square feet, inclusive of classroom space and administrative offices. The application is submitted pursuant to Section 21-20.Floating Zone. V. Permitted Conditional Uses. B. Nonresidential Land Use Districts,10. College/University. The current property owner is Tricony Maitland LLC, 313½ Worth Avenue, Suite B-11, Palm Beach, Florida 33480.

Location:  850 Trafalgar Court, Suite 360, Maitland, Florida.

V.             Recommendation: Petition No. 2006 -02 (AZ) New Hope for Kids

       Applicant: New Hope for Kids, Inc. 205 E. States Road 436, Fern Park, Florida 32730

             Request: A request for zoning amendment has been filed by New Hope for Kids, Inc., to amend Section 21-20. Floating Zone, Public/Semi-Public Uses. V. Permitted Conditional Uses.(A). Residential Land Use Districts of the Maitland City Code. As proposed, the amendment would add number (5.Grief Counseling Center) in the Floating Zone as a Permitted Conditional Use. 

Location: This is a code amendment only. (A proposed future location is at 450 S. Wymore Road.)

Such a person must provide a method for recording the proceedings.
