Sharon was raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts and moved to Central Florida in 1989. Sharon was educated at the University of Central Florida where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting. Sharon has been a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida since September 1998. She is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Government Finance Officers’ Association and the Government Finance Officers’ Association.
Sharon began her professional career in government with the State of Florida, Department of Corrections and accepted a position with the City of Maitland in 1996 as the City’s Senior Accountant. She has worked in various positions within the City, serving as Finance Manager, Finance Director and most recently Management Services Director.
Sharon has one daughter, Shannon who is an elementary education major at the University of Central Florida.
The Assistant City Manager duties are to fulfill the City Manager’s responsibilities in his/her absence. At the direction of the Mayor and City Council, the Assistant City Manager serves on various Boards and Committees as the city's representative. This position also requires performance with special projects and assignments as directed by the City Manager. The Assistant City Manager oversees the Management Services Department, which includes Financial Services, Budgeting, Sanitation and Utility Billing, Human Resources, and Information Technology.

To enable the operating departments to accomplish their missions by providing professional, timely and accurate information and direction along with technical support in the areas of Finance, Sanitation and Utility Billing, Human Resources, Budgeting, and Information Technology, as well as, provide customer service to both internal and external customers at a level which exceeds customer expectations of a government entity.
